Position Summary:
Samsung Research America is looking for an outstanding Senior Research leader to lead our Digital Health Research (R&D) team. This role requires strong experience in leading research and development in digital health, especially applying AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI / LLM to develop novel health products that leverage wearables, smartphones, apps, and health data. This role will lead the following teams: biomarker/algorithms, AI / Gen AI for health, and co-innovation.
You must have a strong record of accomplishment in leading digital health research (R&D) in academic and/or industry settings with a portfolio of innovative products. Preferred experience includes research and development applying AI, Machine Learning, and Gen AI approaches with wearables, medical devices, apps, and health data to develop novel digital biomarkers, Software-as-a-Medical Device, and Gen AI/LLM based health products and services.
You will lead a digital health research team charged with developing, incubating, and launching a portfolio of digital health product concepts that will disrupt the healthcare paradigm. You will build and advance a pipeline of innovative research (R&D) projects with the objective to commercially launch at scale and create health outcomes and impact for consumers. In achieving these goals, you will develop research excellence demonstrated by applying advanced technologies, creating new IP that adds to our IP portfolio, and enhance our research leadership through scientific publications and presentations in top-tier computing and health venues. In addition to internal research, you will also manage a portfolio of partnerships and co-innovation research projects with leading academic centers and health systems.
In addition to technical capabilities, success in this position will require strong internal collaboration and external partnerships across a global network of stakeholder. This requires strong emotional intelligence, relationship and communication skills, persuasive presentation and writing skills, ability to build trust and lead through influence.
