AI Research Engineer

We are seeking a highly qualified Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will primarily focus on the advanced research and development of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI techniques. You will contribute to the innovation and optimization of these models to solve intricate machine learning (ML) problems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in conducting cutting-edge AI research, implementing advanced deep learning models, and optimizing such models for performance and efficiency.

What you’ll achieve

Drive innovation by conducting advanced research in the areas of Deep Learning (DL), Generative AI, and other state-of-the-art AI technologies and Conceive, develop, and execute Proof of Concepts (POCs) that demonstrate the value and potential of your research to the organization.


You will:

  • Innovate through advanced research and development in the fields of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Deep Learning, implementing and fine-tuning architectures using frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow to tackle complex ML/DL problems

  • Employ techniques like pruning, quantization, and model compression for optimizing AI model performance and efficiency, ensuring robustness and scalability of solutions

  • Document intricate research algorithms and models succinctly, contributing to technical reports, code annotations, and ensuring a comprehensive repository of research findings

  • Spearhead Proof of Concept (POC) execution and participate in patent creation processes to demonstrate research potential and safeguard intellectual property

  • Author and publish empirical findings in renowned, peer-reviewed AI conferences and journals, bolstering the organization's stature in innovation, and disseminate expertise through technical presentations and workshops

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in AI, ML, DL, and Reinforcement Learning (RL), with an emphasis on Research in AI/ML/DL technologies and a MS/PhD/Bachelors’ degree or a combination of experience and education

  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience with deep learning, reinforcement learning, and Graph Neural Networks

  • Solid understanding of AI model architecture, training paradigms, fine-tuning processes, and optimization techniques (such as Gradient Descent, Adam, RMSProp)

  • A track record of published research in reputable conferences and journals

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting research findings, presenting at conferences, and providing training

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure) and serverless computing (Lambda, Cloud Functions) is a plus

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $156,400 - $202,400.
