The College of Computing & Data Science (CCDS) is seeking an experienced Project Officer to join our research group for a one-year term.
In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and support for a project focused on Generative AI. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the research and development efforts, ensuring project objectives are met, and maintaining a strong financial foundation. You will also need to stay updated on market dynamics related to Generative AI and provide valuable insights to the team. This position requires excellent project management skills, team management support, strong financial acumen, copywriting abilities to deliver relevant project reports and a deep understanding of the Generative AI field.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Strategy: create effective plans aligned with objectives; assess project requirements and make necessary adjustments; monitor project budget, activities, and progress.
Risk Management and Analysis: assess potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and capitalize on opportunities.
Team Management and Support: organize and motivate the project team by providing leadership, fostering effective communication, and promoting excellence and innovation; assist with administrative tasks and support project execution; collaborate to secure necessary resources for project implementation.
Deliverable Management: Coordinate testing, documentation, and integration of project deliverables; monitor timelines, identify and address delays to meet project deadlines.
Project Performance Evaluation and Reporting: evaluate project performance, maintain accurate project documentation, and provide timely reporting.
Meeting Organization and Documentation: schedule and facilitate project meetings, accurately record meeting discussions, decisions, and action items.
Collaboration with industrial and academic partners, keep smooth contact for all relevant sides.
Conduct market research to identify target audiences, assess industry trends, and evaluate market demand.
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring proper allocation and control of expenses.
Deliver relevant project reports.
Job Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in either computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, or business administration, management, or a related field.
Experience in project management, preferably in the field of Generative AI.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
In-depth knowledge of Generative AI technologies, trends, and market dynamics.
Excellent communication skills to effectively guide the research team and collaborate with stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources efficiently, and deliver high-quality results within project timelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks across projects and research activities.
