Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Primary responsibilities will include to develop, enhance, & maintain Transportation Forecasts while driving accuracy & granularity improvements across multiple nodes. You will need to partner cross-functionally with other data teams to sync demand signals and provide integrated solutions for a single output on Workload. Will then need to create workload and capacity plans outlining the capacity for each network and parts of the country so that we can properly advise the business areas to increase/decrease capacity through various means. These Forecast will support Financial and Operational planning and can involve various nodes types and equipment types across all networks of the supply chain. This role is based in Bentonville, AR.

  • Strong business communication skills, both written and verbal; with ability to communicate / present to Operations teams, also ability to express complex technical topics clearly & easily.
  • Proficiency in common machine learning techniques and forecasting models especially time series forecasting and has strong understanding of probability and statistical models.
  • Proficient in data science programming languages (Python or R), and experience with SQL and relational databases (for example Hive, Big Query).
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and often lack of clarity, demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines.

  • Lead the efforts on forecasting, developing time series forecasting models to provide visibility of future available workload that highlights risks easily.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and other key stakeholders. Build productive and positive relationships across the organization at all levels to drive influence.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performance team. Provide mentorship, guidance, and career development to a team of data scientists.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
