Position Summary About The Walmart Marketplace Decision Management Team Walmart’s Decision Management Team supports the growth of the e-Commerce Marketplace program through the practical application of data science and advanced analysis to optimize risk decision strategies. This includes data analysis, advanced statistics, case investigation and application of advanced modeling techniques to manage risk on the ecommerce platform. We work alongside business, product, and engineering teams to deliver solutions to manage Marketplace risk.What you'll do… The Director of Decision Management directly manages a US-based team of data scientists while collaborating with and coordinating across a larger international team to manage risk for domestic and international portfolio. You and your team will define, implement, test, and deploy decision strategies to mitigate fraud and performance risk for Walmart Marketplace. You will also be responsible for continuous monitoring, investigation, and response to emerging risk trends. This requires a close working relationship with product, engineering, and data science teams to implement and improve risk capabilities. How You'll Make an Impact: Protect the integrity of the Marketplace by seller success and delighting customers with Every Day Low prices. Support aggressive growth targets while delivering the risk and financial architecture. Lead and develop a team of data scientists, analysts, and investigators with direct oversight of decision outcomes. Rapid identification and response to evolving trends to disrupt fraudster economics. Partner and guide improvements in data science models and infrastructure needed to manage risk. Ensure close collaboration with business partners to define priorities and ensure that solutions are implemented and adopted. Build key measurements and a test/iterate rigor to improve results. Challenge accepted approaches and push innovative solutions that enable explosive growth across the Global Marketplace. What you'll bring: Expertise in data science, marketplace risk vectors, proven experience in building and managing scalable risk platforms. Ability to drive constant and data driven improvement in decision strategies. End to end systems thinking that translates into best in-class and scalable risk management. Adept at dealing with ambiguity and making independent decisions about what data and approach is best for the task at hand. Lead with what’s needed but focused on building towards scale. Excellent at communicating with individuals and groups at all levels of an organization. Strong business insight, superb communication, and relationship skills >10 years of supervisory experience. Minimum Qualifications... Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 7 years' experience in an analytics related field.Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and at least 5 years of applied experience Option 3: 15 years of applied experience and success in ecommerce risk management, applied analytics or related field Preferred Qualifications...
