About the Team
The Data Science Search Team analyses a combination of product usage and product performance data to derive meaningful insights that would serve as a guide to better product and decision-making for our business leaders. The team will work through different business scenarios including improving LIVE app Experiences, Host Operation, User experiences. In addition, it is important to manage the data life cycle to ensure problems are quantitatively measured to propose logical solutions.
About the Role
The primary role of a Senior Data Scientist for our Data team is to conduct deep analysis into user behavior, product features and content ecosystem to generate business insights that could be applied to actionable improving initiatives. You will work closely with cross-function teams, such as PM\RD\MLE, to improve user experience and fulfill growth of TikTok in all different regions.
Responsibilities
- Work with large and complex data to solve technical and statistical challenges, and drive business impact, specifically within the global search team.
- Design metrics framework to measure product healthiness, keep tracking of core metrics and understand root causes of metric movements.
- Drive data informed decisions on experiment launches and rigorously measure the impact of product or technical changes.
- Validate hypotheses, identify product growth opportunities, and influence direction for improvement with analyses, experimentation or other scientific methods.
- Partner with engineers and product stakeholders to deliver product insights and strategy.
- As a domain expert, solve difficult problems such as understanding and improving ecosystems, optimizing recommendation systems, conducting statistical research on causal inference; drive team's improvement on analytical rigor and quality.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably with a background in analytics for internet services or large-scale C2C products.
- Proficiency in SQL and adept in data visualization tools.
- Proven ability to manage data extraction, analysis, and visualization within complex data ecosystems, translating findings into business applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of distilling complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive learner with a curious mind, self-sufficient with a strong aptitude for collaborative problem-solving.
