As part of the Analytics & Behavior Change function, the Consumer Experimentation and Insight team helps lead our mission to be a consumer-centric, data-driven organization. This team relentlessly works to grow CVS’s customer engagement by identifying opportunities and optimizing strategy thru continuous test and learn. Team leverages structured/unstructured and cross business unit data and analytical solutions to transform data into actionable insights at greater scale. We are looking for the best, the brightest and the most passionate analytics visionaries to join our team and help us deliver on this initiative.

As the Senior Data Scientist, you will work with cross functional experts to identify business opportunities, optimize consumer engagement strategies by leading hypothesis-driven approach. Your work will answer the key questions like: What problems are critical to customers and business? How do we solve with the most effective yet systemic and data-driven approach?

This position will be based in one of our Analytics Hubs (Boston, NY, or RI) and will report to the Director, Consumer Experimentation and Insight with consistent exposure to senior leadership within A&BC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead test and learn initiatives that evaluate new innovative ways to enhance our customers engagement and business growth
  • Lead audience strategy, experimental design, impact simulation, intervention recommendation, and measurement plan to support key initiatives experiments
  • Lead the team to build and oversee the management of various data products and experimentation platform
  • Develop project plans on the enhancement and evolution of the data products and experimentation platform -- colleague facing tools and capability to enable continuous test and learn at scale and to enable actionable insight generation at speed
  • Be analytical thought leader by being able to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically
  • Lead with strategic thinking by identifying a vision along with the plans, which need to be implemented to meet the end goal, evaluating situations, decisions, and issues in the short, medium, and long term
  • Develop impactful documents for executive leadership and business partners that effectively communicate the strategic initiatives, progress, achievements and impact of analytical solutions and platform
  • Create, execute, and own product marketing plan to drive user adoption and change management

LOCATION: Hybrid schedule (Tue, Wed, & Thu every week in office) in NYC, Boston/Wellesley, or Woonsocket, RI office. Must reside within a commutable distance.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of strategy consulting or strategy teams in large companies as a product owner
    • 3+ years of work experience in experimentation
    • Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills
    • Mastery of collaboration and teamwork
    • Mastery of structured thinking and verbal/written communication
    • Mastery of Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint for strategic planning, documentation, and executive level communication

    Programming/Technical Qualifications:

    • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
    • Experience with experiment design (A/B/N testing, multivariate testing, randomized-controlled test, causal inference, synthetic control modeling, etc.)
    • Strong theoretical and hands-on experience with statistics and machine learning
    • Hands-on experience with cloud computing (Google Cloud, AWS, Snowflake, etc.)
    • Strong understanding of version control (i.e., Git)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of product strategy experience in an enterprise level organization within Martech.
    • Strong proficiency coding in SQL/Python
    • Experience to build internal data product/platform
    • Experiment with methods for optimizing experiments such as CUPED – controlled experiment using pre-experiment data, multi-arm bandit, Bayesian, etc.)
    • Retail & consumer product sector experience
    • Demonstrates a strong ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in business or quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
    • Master's degree in quantitative field or MBA strongly preferred

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $97,335.00 - $206,000.00

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
