About Trust & Safety
Building a world where people can safely discover, create and connect. The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at TikTok helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.
Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and direction to a team of data scientists, guiding their professional growth and ensuring the successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
2. Develop comprehensive metrics and quantitative measurement framework to drive the improvement of the capability of removing harmful content in TikTok Video.
3. Lead the strategic planning and execution of short-term and long-term business plans through in-depth business analysis, industry studies and the study of market trends.
4. Refine and upgrade the content safety system for globalised products, incorporating statistical modeling methods to construct an efficient decision-making system that quantifies business tradeoffs.
5. Initiate analysis projects utilising a comprehensive understanding of content safety, and develop scalable solutions through data analysis, empowering various scenarios such as resource planning, automations in experimentation and decision rules, etc.
6. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within the Trust and Safety department, actively sharing insights and recommendations, and driving the implementation of data-driven insights to foster a culture of data-inspired decision-making throughout the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or above with a solid foundation in statistical and data mining theories.
2. Solid experience in quantifying complex problems with many impacting factors, and using statistical methods to seek answers, such as designing experiments, making causal inference. Proficient in data analysis and statistical analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, and Tableau.
3. Written and verbal communications skills to convey complicated processes and systems to business partners and senior leadership.
4. Acute ability to grasp company product-related industry technology development trends, and possess strong macro analysis and decision-making capabilities.
5. Relevant working experience in data science related industry, with rich experience in designing success metrics and A/B testing, with a deep understanding of risks in globalised products.
6. Experience leading a data scientist team, experience in coaching team members.
7. Experience collaborating with cross-functional and global teams. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor degree in mathematics or statistics-related majors
2. Minimum 5+ years of relevant working experience in data science related industry
3. Over 2 years of experience leading a data scientist team, experience in coaching team members.
