Job Description

At TOMRA Food we are committed to our brand and as we continue to invest globally, we are looking for a passionate and driven Senior Data Scientist to join our team. Your work will be purposeful, and you will enhance real-time food grading performance by developing deep learning and computer vision algorithms.

With strong deep learning experience, you will play an expert role in data science and deep learning and help lead the business on a journey in this space. You will be curious by nature and comfortable communicating across multiple business functions, geographical regions and teams. You will enjoy sharing knowledge and mentor the other Data Scientist in a small but agile Technology team. Here's a sneak peek into some of what you will be doing: 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop, test and implement deep learning and computer vision algorithms for real-time food sorting performance, as well as predictive models and algorithms for machine reliability, predictive maintenance and anomaly detection.
  • Analyse and explore large and complex data sets using data analytics techniques and statistical modelling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and develop data-driven solutions to meet those objectives.
  • Utilize and optimize real-time data processing and data visualization tools.
  • Communicate your findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience with MLOps to help build, test and deploy machine learning models 

Qualifications

About you: 

  • Master or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
  • Proven proficiency with several machine-learning related tools, application programming languages and frameworks (Python, SQL)
  • Strong experience with deep learning, computer vision and data analytics techniques.
  • Ability to extract meaningful business insights from data and identify the stories behind the patterns
  • Experience with code revision control (GIT)
  • Passion for prototyping new products and solutions that have the capability to transform the industry
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivated, creative and collaborative
