We are looking for a talented Senior Data Scientist to play a key role helping Stepstone to build best-in-class jobseeker products. You will join a dedicated R&D team of data scientists and machine learning engineers who are building state of the art solutions to shape how jobseekers find their next career step. You will work with some of the largest data sources in the industry containing billions of data points of interactions between jobseekers and our brands.

What will this role look like on a day-to-day basis?
Train, optimise and fine-tune machine learning (ML) models to solve business problems in the job discovery and matching space.
Research the scientific literature and provide assessments of business value for the latest ML/AI technologies.
Work with tech leaders across the organisation to discover opportunities for optimising our goal of finding the right job for everyone.
Work alongside machine learning and software engineers to develop and deploy ML models in AWS, at scale.
Communicate your results to stakeholders in a professional and actionable manner.
Drive the adoption of MLOps best practise.
Skills, know-how and experience:
Significant contributions to academic research in a quantitative field (articles in journals, conferences, etc).
A postgraduate degree (MSc, PhD) in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience. We welcome applicants with non-traditional career paths.
3-4 years of hands-on experience as a data scientist.
Strong knowledge of NLP models including tokenization and embeddings.
Hands-on experience developing, training, tuning, and deploying Large Language Models such as GPT, LLaMA, BERT or other Transformer-based architectures.
Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras or similar deep learning frameworks.
Strong Python skills.
Experience with MLOps techniques, CI/CD, Docker containerisation.
Experience with conversational AI, including frameworks such as ReAct, Langchain, Auto-GPT, etc. is a plus.
Experience building and deploying machine learning/AI models in a cloud environment (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary & collaborative environment.
Ability to clearly present projects and results to business stakeholders.
Curiosity for the cutting-edge of machine learning/AI, keeping up to date with the latest research.
