PNT Data Scientist

As a data scientist on our team, you'll support our Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) project at Booz Allen, working to enhance the capabilities that are vital to our defense infrastructure. Your role will involve not just the technical aspects of data science, such as ETL, data cleansing, and governance, but also the application of these skills to ensure the precision and reliability of PNT systems. You'll collaborate with a dedicated team to develop and deploy innovative solutions that address the unique challenges of PNT data, contributing to the safety and security of operations.

You Have:   

  • 5+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining 
  • 5+ years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages and toolkits for data analysis such as Python or R
  • Experience with visualization packages, including Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2
  • Experience using statistical and AI/ML techniques to derive insights from large datasets
  • Experience in the Aerospace domain
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS datasets and systems
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, data warehousing solutions and the ability to work with both structured and unstructured data
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience working with cloud environment, such as AWS
  • Experience with relational databases like SQL/NoSQL
  • Knowledge of microservices, including Docker or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of the DoD approach to data management and knowledge of DoDAF to support the creation and integration of standardized architecture artifacts
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph  a plus

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
