YOUR IMPACT

In your role on the risk management team for the US-based partnership cards business, you will be responsible for the design, development and execution of a comprehensive solutions related to fraud strategy and supporting regulatory monitoring and analytics. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze fraud trends and develop fraud solutions needed to address current as well as evolving fraud threats. The candidate must be able to collaborate and influence across divisions to deliver enterprise fraud initiatives and have experience working with internal and external governance teams across the business including Customer Operations, Financial Crimes (AML), Compliance, Decision Sciences and Technology.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Thought leader who can provide the vision and develop for strategic road map for the Fraud Data Science function. 
  • Statistical Model development and model management for managing Fraud Risk within Apple Card business
  • Be a leader in Data Science space and lead model development projects across fraud risk and operations use cases.
  • Develop the processes and standard operating procedures for effective model management including model validation, fair lending and other regulatory compliance related analyses.
  • Develop the vision and road map for adoption and deployment of AI and ML models to maximize the effectiveness of models without compromising on the compliance. 
  • Prepare and lead projects related to regulatory exams and Internal Audit reviews. 
  • Stakeholder management with enterprise level compliance teams as well as risk oversight teams including MRM, fair Lending, legal and compliance organizations.
  • Partner closely with the strategy and product teams to understand business needs and use cases where models can be developed and deployed.
  • Review, evaluate and drive selection of new vendors or technologies to enhance the Data Science function and mitigate emerging risks 
  • Research and remain current on the latest industry trends and recommend tools, services, and practices for improvement. 
  • Mentor, develop and lead team of highly talented, skilled data science experts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of prior experience working in data science/strategy roles including areas like model risk management, validation and managing regulatory risk related models
  • Proficiency in Pyspark, R or Python, SQL 
  • Advanced analytical/quantitative and deductive reasoning skills 
  • Hands on, self-motivated, quick-learner, assertive and well organized 
  • Ability to work independently, but still be a strong team player 
  • Previous experience in automation, process optimization and increasing efficiency 
  • Attention to details and excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple projects 
  • Experience in stakeholder management.
  • Strategy experience is a plus
