Manager, Data Science - Analytics

Expedia Group (EG) Analytics are looking for an astute, consultative, hard-working individual with a strong analytical and business background. The role will have ownership of high-visibility analytics projects across Mobile Marketing and lead an analyst to work towards these goals.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Mobile Marketing Analytics, you will be working closely with teams across EG including Marketing, Finance, Data Science and Data Engineering. as well as mentoring highly skilled junior analysts in the wider team. You will be seek to to our increase understanding of the factors that influence a customers’ decision to download our App and visit our mobile sites - developing and executing testing programmes to help advance our knowledge.

What you'll do:

  • Enjoy full end-to-end responsibility of running projects and solving problems

  • Manage one highly skilled junior analyst and help them to own their career development

  • Help to develop and define the vision, strategy and roadmap for our Analytics team

  • Apply advanced analytical techniques and models to enhance our marketing strategy

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to ensure accurate data capture and continuous improvement of data availability

  • Coordinate across channel specific marketing teams to promote alignment with business goals and decisions, building solid relationships with team leaders

  • Proactively engage with internal and external partners to assess existing and upcoming business needs, presenting your analyses to a wide EG community.

  • Share expertise and outstanding practice with analytical functions to aid delivery on future projects

Who you are:

  • Experienced in data mining, statistical modeling and business analysis with at least a Bachelor's in an analytical field (STEM) required. Advanced degrees/qualifications in the above are a plus but not essential

  • Ability to structure, transform and visualize big data with ease, using tools such as SQL, Python, Scala or R, or any other major ML programming language

  • Extracts data from multiple data sources and combines into the required datasets for model building or analytics.

  • Expected work experience with Bachelor’s degree 5+ years, with Master’s degree 3+ years or with PhD 2+ years

  • Results-oriented and motivated, with the ability to influence key partners to drive real change

  • An excellent story-teller, who can communicate the insights you produce effectively to answer commercial questions

  • Have a solid understanding of online marketing, from a past or current role. Previous experience of Mobile or app-based e-commerce and marketing a bonus

  • Experience leading and managing junior analysts, helping them to effectively manage their analytical workloads

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.  Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
