About our Team
The Data Science Life Science team at Elsevier works to improve automated excerption and enhance search for enriched data. Their focus is on a suite of Life Sciences products, which includes products such as Reaxys, Embase, and Pharmapendium.
About the Role
The skilled Data Scientists, led by the interim Manager Data Science, will support product growth. The team will consist of 5-7 members.
Responsibilities
Setting strategy and team direction; has clear vision for Data Science
Recognizing expert in Data Science
Engaging in diverse data science activities, by selecting tools, maintain pipelines, and analyze data.
Planning, delegating, prioritizing and managing team resources to ensure DSLS and Life Science business goals are achieved.
Mentoring, coaching and guiding team members to develop their skills and best practices.
Partnering with cross-functional teams while executing on projects
Requirements
Proven experience in managing larger technical teams (direct or indirect)
Proven experience in team & people management.
Able to solve customer problems, and serving their needs and stakeholder management in the Life Sciences space.
With expertise in data science and statistical analysis, able to create and evaluate novel procedures with assistance.
Able to create typical data steps to prepare and process data for analysis.
Experience across coding languages used in Data Science (e.g. Python, SQL, Java, C++, R, SAS, and/or Scala)
Able to make small and medium complexity project plans.
Experience in the basic methods common to the discipline, industry and domain
