[What the role is]
In this role you will support the data science team in data management, data preparation, data analysis and collaborate with the data science team in the development of ML models. You will also manage routine operational work, provide administrative support to the Data Science & Analytics team and provide executive assistant support to Director of Data Science & Analytics.

[What you will be working on]

Main Responsibilities:

1. EA & Administrative Support

a) Provide executive assistant support to Director, Data Science & Analytics

b) Support the division’s budget officers in managing the day-to-day budget monitoring / tracking.

c) Perform finance administration which includes purchase orders, invoice processing and procurement matters.

d) Undertake role of knowledge manager and training officer

e) Any other administrative / operational matters as necessary

2. Project Management

a) Support project leads in project management, vendor management and execution to deliver on data science related implementations ensuring that deliverables and objectives are met within agreed scope and timelines.

b) Work with the data science team and other cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, and business analysts, to integrate and deploy models into current analytics platforms and production systems.

3. Support in Data Management and Analysis

a) Perform business data analysis and information gathering on new data and analytic project requirements.

b) Support the data science team on data management, data infrastructure setup and preparation of data to support machine learning projects.

c) Work with the data science team to build ML models to deepen our insights and understanding of our visitors.

d) Collaborate with other teams to assemble, analyse and implement large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.

e) Develop new data visualisations and enhance existing reports and dashboards.

f) Perform ad-hoc analytics, reporting and data visualisations relevant to project needs.

g) Assist with labelling of new training inputs.
 

[What we are looking for]

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a background in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science or a related discipline
  • Preferably with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Candidates with no experience / fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also apply
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with an eye for detail and possess an aptitude/ experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
  • Ability to integrate and synthesise research and data across multiple sources to derive meaningful conclusions
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large volume of quantitative data/ routine work
  • Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills
  • Able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Showing good business acumen, analytical thinking and judgement     
  • Working effectively within STB to achieve results
  • Working effectively with stakeholders outside STB
  • Serving with heart, commitment and purpose
  • Being innovative and learning continuously

  • Competency in Microsoft office applications
  • Experience in using analytics tools e.g. R, Python
  • Experience in modelling, creating, editing and publishing dashboards using visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, QlikSense)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Familiar with organisational policies and procedures will be an added advantage
  • Good stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with a passion for learning new technologies/ tools.
