Join the development organization for Nasdaq Trade Surveillance. The main objective for the development team in Bangalore is to build upon the industry leading trade surveillance platform for our customers globally. We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist who will initially work on an AI initiative to improve the way we perform trade surveillance in our FinTech division.
Your role and responsibilities:
You will act as the Lead Data Scientist within the team, owning the analysis and modelling for complex and large data sets. You will be expected to be able to document and explain your findings to a wide cross section of stakeholders including customers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced team delivering complex technology solutions to international clients. You will work with and learn from subject matter experts, and have the opportunity to take on more responsibility withing the Engineering team.
Furthermore, you will:
- Designs complex and predictive modeling and manipulates complex data from a large number of divergent sources in working through the more strategic large business opportunities in partnership with senior business leaders and / or Customers.
- Proven experience in Capital Markets. Experience in trading surveillance would be advantageous.
- Writes research reports describing the experiment conducted, results, and findings. Based on these results makes recommendations on business opportunity to technology, product, and senior management.
- Will often partner with technology and business leaders working with strategic clients exploring business partnering opportunities.
- Is able to articulate the complex hypothesis and predictive modelling in commercial terms, influencing product development.
- Is a functional expert, presents the data science concepts internally to gain understanding and commitment on exploring joint business ideas with our large and strategic clients. Works across business units, aligning opportunities strategically across Nasdaq.
- Is the lead scientist for a business unit facilitating cross functional inputs on key data science work and translating into profitable business streams.
We expect you to have:
- Minimum 12+ years of experience with at least 6+yrs as a Lead Data scientist.
- Proven experience as a Machine Learning Architect or AI.
- Strong programming skills in one or more analytical tools such as R, SQL, or Python.
- Must have experience in Trade Surveillance.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases and data warehouse.
- Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and algorithms.
- Experience working with big data - identifying trends, patterns, and outliers in large volumes of data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas.
- Education Qualification: Bachelor/master’s in mathematics, Statistics, Data science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
It would be great if you:
- Experience in AWS cloud platform is a big plus.
