Job Description

We seek a talented and driven Junior Data Scientist Automation Developer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting our government client's technological initiatives by leveraging data science and automation to enhance system efficiency and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analysis and software development and an eagerness to contribute to developing innovative solutions. The Junior Data Scientists/Automation Developer supports the DEAMS Functional Management Office (FMO), Air Force Accounting Operations Center (AFAOC), and Air Force field commands using the DEAMS application.

Duties and experiences include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ticket Management: Review, investigate, and diagnose tickets within the Government-provided ticket management system. Resolve tickets or provide status updates within 30 calendar days, with bi-weekly updates for unresolved tickets.
  • Solution Development Participation: Engage in solution development working groups to ensure user requirements are accurately interpreted and met.
  • Documentation Review: Ensure accuracy and completeness of Functional Descriptions (FD), Technical Descriptions (TD), and other work products, adhering to DEAMS Interface Metrics, Error Correction, and Status tracking (DIMES) standards.
  • Interface and DIMES Support: Assist in troubleshooting interface/DIMES issues, establish interface connections, and develop/maintain Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) for new or updated interfaces.
  • Post Release Support: Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for troubleshooting, responding to user issues, identifying defects, or missed requirements.
  • Auditor Support: Support auditor requests by demonstrating DEAMS functionality, highlighting system and business process details.
  • System Interface Requirements: Assist in planning and developing functional system interface requirements and agreements.
  • Error Handling and Efficiency Improvements: Analyze interface and error-handling procedures to identify and correct inefficiencies.
  • Testing and Strategic Planning: Perform QT&E testing related to DEAMS interfaces and maintain the functional interface strategic plan with semi-annual updates.
  • Documentation Updates: Update job aids and desktop procedures to support software and configuration changes.
  • Data Management: Plan and facilitate data retention, archiving, and purging activities.
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA): Recommend RPA uses, gather requirements, develop and deploy RPA solutions, and provide ongoing support for RPA in production.

  • 0 to 3 years of experience

Desired Experience:

  • Air Force and DoD financial management policies and procedures
  • Air Force policies, systems, and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property, and material management
  • Federal and Defense financial audit processes

Certification Requirements:

Desired Certifications

  • Agile software certifications, including scrum master or product owner
  • Certifications in SAFe Agile Framework
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

Education Requirements: Bachelor of Arts / Bachelors of Science
