TEAMOur mission is to create world-class software and build the safest car in the world. You will help to build the data-driven development pipeline with real market data from customer vehicles, fleet vehicles, MaaS platforms for automated driving (AD) / advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) developers. That is one of the core missions of the company, so working closely with many product teams, business teams and top management. You will report to the head of the Data Centric Development team. You will be based in Tokyo and work primarily within the Japan team and reporting lines, but will also be expected to work globally with overseas entities and stakeholders in the US, UK, etc. Hybrid work is currently permitted.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORThe ideal candidate is to make an impact while contributing to a cross-functional team. You will combine cutting-edge technology with IoT and data collection systems which can flexibly collect data, process it and make a feedback loop between vehicle and cloud system, then support a host of different projects in the domain of AD/ADAS, with the goal of achieving faster feedback iterations for agile development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform statistical analysis on vehicle data to facilitate informed decision-making by top management and other stakeholders
- Analyze vehicle data to identify areas for improvement in AD/ADAS functionality and user experience
- Build machine learning based tools and data pipelines to improve ease of data retrieval and analysis
- Drive continuous improvement of the data platform in collaboration with infrastructure teams
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- You are required to have PwD (People with Disabilities) handbook from Japanese government
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field
- Able to write idiomatic, maintainable Python and SQL
- Business-level written and spoken Japanese
NICE TO HAVES:
- Master's degree in STEM field
- 3 years of professional experience in applied statistics, machine learning, or related areas
- Experience creating data pipelines in Airflow / dbt or similar tools
- Experience in internal or external technical consulting role
- Business-level written and spoken English
