Data Scientist- Senior Compliance Consultant, EMEA

As a Data Scientist / Senior Compliance Consultant, EMEA, you will support the development, implementation, and review of compliance programs for the EMEA Regional Compliance Team.  The EMEA Regional Compliance team oversees a number of diverse Compliance teams (Life, Retail and Commercial) in terms of scale and complexity. This role will focus on automation, data analytics and AI to continue to future proof our ability to support the Region in conducting assurance utilizing the newest technologies and be data driven. We are looking for a data expert (with assurance experience) to join our team and support in carrying out our data management and oversight obligations in addition providing support to the Regional Compliance Officer. 

Your Role

As a Data Scientist, Senior Compliance Consultant within the EMEA region you responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the further enhancement of the Regional Data Management Strategy (including assurance) ensuring further insight from data analytics, automations and AI solutions.  
  • Drive further automations in our current processes. Collate reports/dashboards from multiple business units and evaluate data and reports (automate and standardize current process) 
  • Coordinate with management, business leads, and Compliance teams in simplifying, embedding, and automating controls and testing where appropriate. Candidate should be willing to challenge current processes and practices with a view for improvement.  
  • Support the regional team in the oversight and management of the Group Assurance Methodology and as appropriate, regional oversight of the ICIF framework for Compliance control activities. 
  • Present on compliance related matters to stakeholders as required. 
  • Assist in preparing reports that provide insights and trends 
  • Co-ordination of cross-functional processes and projects and delivery of monthly and quarterly reports (MI and insights) 

Your Skills & Experience

As a Data Scientist, Senior Compliance Consultant your skills and qualifications will include:

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Law, Risk or Business degree in related field and 3-5 more years of experience in the Financial Services area 
  • Strong Data Management and MI interpretation skills 
  • Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to deliver effective management information and reporting.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • IT skills such as data analytics using e.g., Excel, PowerBI or Python are required 
  • Experience within automation 
  • Strong English language skills 
  • Experience of financial services and/or insurance is a plus but the willingness to learn a new industry is key. 
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

Additional Information

Primary work location is IFSC based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
