CACI is seeking a Data Scientist to work in support of US Coast Guard’s Ship Design Team/Engineering Directorate at Headquarters in Washington DC. Position is in support of new and ongoing shipbuilding programs across a wide range of Cutters and Small Boats.
What You'll Get to do
Develop and apply methods to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to build and enhance products, processes, and systems.
Conduct data mining and retrieval, and applies statistical and mathematical analyses to identify trends, solve analytical problems, optimize performance, maintenance, and sustainment, and improve overall processes.
Apply programming, statistics, and visualization to glean insights from large and disparate data sources.
Knowledge of and skill in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL), Python data science and visualization packages (PyMC3, matplotlib, Bokeh, Sci-Kit, TensorFlow), MatLAB, PHP, Tableau, and similar data integration services and data visualization tools.

US citizenship is required
This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must either already possess an active or interim Secret security clearance (preferred); OR be eligible for a Secret security clearance upon hire.
Minimum of 4 years’ documented experience applying statistical analysis and data mining to apply, learn, and improved understanding of data
Documented experience working with web based collaboration tools (e.g. SharePoint).
Documented experience with Python, R, and/or MATLAB. Documented experience developing detailed/interactive visualizations and exploratory data analysis. Experience with projects using Machine Learning, statistical methods, and natural language processing.
Due to the requirements of the federal contract that this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required. Citizenship will be confirmed via I-9/E-Verify at the start of employment.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
Documented experience with the marine or defense environment preferred.
Master's degree in relevant field such as Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Business Management or Human Resources Management CAN BE substituted for 4 years experience
