Data Scientist II, Analytics

We are seeking an experienced analytics professional to join our Product Analytics & Experimentation Team, supporting the lodging supply partner experience platform initiatives in the spaces of partner onboarding and partner content and media experience. It will be a mid-level individual contributor role partnering primarily with product managers within the Partner Product org. The role will be supporting strategic priorities and key business decisions throughout the product development lifecycle that improves the partner experience to drive bottom-line growth. This involves tracking measures of success and supporting metrics, automating diagnostic reporting, identifying areas of improvement and relevant business questions, conducting experiments and interpreting the results, building data-driven insights leveraging descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, and providing actionable recommendations.

What you will do:

  • Apply your expertise in data science and product analytics with a goal of improving partner experience and business results with a religious focus on scientific rigor and impactful analytics

  • Work with multi-disciplinary stakeholders, manage product analytics projects, and operate within a community of analysts, sharing findings, wins and methodologies

  • Own end to end process in designing and running experiments; proactively see opportunities and recommend new feature for test and learn

  • Contribute to tracking measures of success and supporting metrics, build accurate, automated and simple to use reporting

  • Collaborate with the product team in product performance review, strategy planning and goal setting

  • Take initiative to identify current and potential problems and opportunities, and recommend the best solution given the trade-offs

  • Make recommendations with effective presentations of findings through visual displays of quantitative information

Who you are:

  • Experience with data science languages and tools such as SQL, Python/R, and Excel experience is required

  • Experience with digital analytics tools i.e. Adobe Analytics, and experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools i.e. Tableau, Power BI, etc.

  • Experience in statistical analysis, experimentation (A/B testing, quasi-experiment methods), supervised and unsupervised learning models

  • A strong analytical attitude and problem-solving skills, including the ability to break down complex scenarios into constituent parameters and to translate complex data findings into clear insights. Additionally, the storytelling ability to communicate insights

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and work with different functions (product, strategy, engineering, etc.), identifying needs and managing expectations (meeting deadlines, maximizing impact, and minimizing surprises)

  • Result-oriented, using the most efficient approach for making an impact, combined with a strong attention to detail, a high level of initiative, and the ability to thrive in a multi-tasking and fast-paced environment

  • 2+ years of experience in data science and product analytics

  • A Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (STEM) required. Advanced degrees/qualifications are a plus but not essential
