Data Scientist, IDC Strategy Responsibilities

  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how Facebook users interact with our consumer and
    business products.
  • Mine massive amounts of data and perform large-scale data analysis to extract useful business insights.
  • Develop data pipelines with automated, machine-learning
    systems that convert noisy core datasets into powerful signals of user behavior.
  • Build models of user behaviors for analysis or to power production systems.
  • Partner with Product and
    Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Design and implement dashboards and reports that track key business metrics and provide actionable insights.
  • Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups.
  • Work across areas of product
    operations, exploratory analysis, product leadership, and data infrastructure to help shape the future of what we build at Meta.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a PhD Degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related field and six months of work experience in job offered or in a data analyst or computer-related occupation. Requires six months of experience in the following:
  • 1. Analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across stakeholders
  • 2. SQL development experience writing queries
  • 3. Hands-on project management experience
  • 4. Data visualization tools
  • 5. Packages such as R, Tableau, SPSS, SAS, or STATA
  • 6. Scripting in Python or PHP
  • 7. Leveraging data driven models to drive business decisions
  • 8. Using data access tools and building visualizations using large datasets and multiple data sources
  • 9. Communicating data insights to all organizational levels
  • 10. R or Python packages such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, scikit-learn, dplyr, or ggplot2
  • 11. Knowledge of statistics: statistics basics, statistical modeling, experimental design, OR hypothesis testing
  • 12. Medium to large datasets: data extraction, cleaning, analysis or presentation.
