Job Description:
A position of “Data Scientist for A320 Efficiency Leader” has arisen in the System Efficiency and Digital Transformation of the Programme A320 (siglum: BSYD).
The team BSYD is integrated in the Department BSY, in charge of the Competitiveness and Strategy of the Programme A320.
The A320 Family is facing very important challenges for the Company, in particular for ramping up until 2026 while at the same time challenging the efficiency, optimization and modernization, simplification and automation.
As such, this role is strategic for the A320 Programme as you will continuously improve the business’s data analysis model, creating industry-leading performance through the leveraging of new and creative solutions.
You will highly collaborate with many stakeholders within the BS Organization and wider. You will need to work closely with other data and analytics teams (Skywise, AI&AA team, BX, Operations, Engineering…) and you will ensure alignment and complementarity with other data analytics activities within A320 family Programme and within the rest of Airbus.
Your challenges:
Your role as a Data Scientist for A320 Efficiency entails the following responsibilities:
Contribute to the resolution of operational challenges with innovative digital solutions, state-of-the-art and emerging technologies.
Define how the A320 Family programme creates additional value and efficiency through the utilization of its data assets and analytics for reporting, analysis, predictions and preventions;
Support the creation of integrated data sets, analyzing data sources through Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence methods;
Drives experimental data modeling designs, tests, deployments within the A320 family Programme as proof of concept or proof of value. As such, you will be a key player in the Data Ontology implementation;
Demonstrate hands-on solutions of AI-enhanced capabilities, showing benefits of applied AI-based techniques through use cases defined with Business specialists;
With the support of Digital organization, define, develop, test, deploy & support AI-enabled capabilities within the A320 Program, while working closely with relevant stakeholders;
Answer to ad-hoc requests on data integration in skywise, data analytics, and few dashboarding activities;
Contribute to the A320 Programme strategies and objectives (BDPR, Steps, II, TCO, TFO, BS Objectives…), including the Digital Strategy for A320 Family;
Define the business’s data science talent needs (role definition, recruitment or subcontracting)
Coordinates the necessary (internal or external) data analyst and partners and deploy with them a Data Culture and related skills within the A320 Programmes
Benchmark and keep A320 Programme & Family at the best necessary level and clarify top requirements and standards.
Your Boarding Pass:
Proficiency in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data management, information systems, information science (Master’s degree level or equivalent experience; alternatively, a PhD degree demonstrating a concrete industrial application)
Proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and surrogate modeling techniques
Good understanding of Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) and Simulation Process and Data Management (SPDM)
Understanding of Data Ontology, and experience with Skywise is highly appreciated
Familiarity with big data platforms, i.e. Spark
Programming languages experience (Python / PySpark, Javascript, SQL, CSS, HTML).
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, like AWS, GCP.
Curious, open & willing to understand, strong appetite to dive into new topics and digest a large amount of related information
Collaborating mind-set (i.e. developing trustful relationship and focusing on value added)
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to switch from big picture to detailed view
Familiarity with enterprise architecture, business objects, and agile development processes (including SAFe) is desirable.
5 years of experience in the aerospace industry or industries of similar complexity or in an applied science laboratory would be an advantage
Knowledge about Programme A320 would be a plus
Language: English mandatory, French and/or German is a plus
