Data Scientist, Auction Expert Responsibilities

  • Investigate and understand the current best practices for advertising on Meta, and use data science to discover new strategies.
  • Apply analytical skills to complex quantitative problems, presenting and driving actions from insights to key stakeholders both reactively and proactively.
  • Develop deep understanding of the Meta Auction, analyzing current performance and developing new strategies for optimization.
  • Work closely with our Marketing Science and sales teams, as well as advertisers directly, to identify, analyze, and scale auction practices.
  • Research applied machine learning questions in our ads system to improve system understanding and drive advertiser value.
  • Identify strategic levers for improving advertiser performance across Meta's ads auction.
  • Present polished findings and recommendations directly to various stakeholders.
  • Elevate key themes to our product research teams that should be focused on deeper investigation or alpha testing of new opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field and 36 months of experience in job offered or in a related occupation.

    Requires 36 months of experience in each of the following:
  • 1. Machine learning techniques
  • 2. Working with large data sets and network-based data (TCP or HTTP)
  • 3. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • 4. Relational database (SQL or PL*SQL)
  • 5. Developing in Python
  • 6. Statistical analysis using R
  • 7. Large scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems (Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, or MPI)
  • 8. Quantitative analysis techniques: clustering, regression, pattern recognition and descriptive and inferential statistics
  • 9. Communicating and presenting results of data analyses.
