Data Scientist, Aftermarket
Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC has an opening for a Data Scientist, Aftermarket in Chicago, Illinois.
Develop, implement, and manage aftermarket product line databases and sales tools for aftermarket products. Develop and deliver sophisticated analytic solutions that support strategic business initiatives. Collect and analyze data using the Business Intelligence (BI) platform. Develop and leverage financial analytics to deliver profitable growth. Responsible for the IoT expansion for aftermarket growth strategy. Responsible for the aftermarket online ordering platform (SmartEquip). Help implement aftermarket price adjustments in collaboration with the Aftermarket Product Manager. Provide data modeling of the aftermarket product portfolio and analytical support to the Aftermarket team. Act as subject matter expert in all aspects related to data collection and analysis for internal and external customers. May work from home up to 2 days per week. Limited domestic travel (less than 10%) required.
Must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and at least 3 years of work experience as a Data Scientist (or related role) working with Data Analytics. In the alternative, a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Data Scientist (or related role) working with Data Analytics would be acceptable. Must also possess the following: at least 3 years of experience with data modeling, database development, SQL, BI tools (such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc.), Cloud technologies (such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure), Adobe and Relational Database (SQL Server, PostgreSQL); at least 3 years of experience with data programming, analytical and problem-solving in a highly matrixed environment; at least 3 years of experience leading cross-functional data analytics projects; at least 2 years of experience developing BI dashboards with a focus on opportunity mapping leveraging Microsoft Dynamic NAV/JDE/SAP (or equivalent ERP or CRM systems); at least 1 year of data modeling experience using tools such as Visio, Lucid chart, etc., specifically around sales, marketing, and engineering data mapping within a defined install base segment; at least 1 year of experience in developing profit recognizing programs leveraging multiple ERP sources to understand overall install base populations; at least 1 year of experience developing asset lifecycle models and developing BI dashboards to pinpoint areas of high lost opportunity.
