Job Description

Postal is looking for a talented data scientist to help oversee the collection, storage, and interpretation of data. This will include shifting through data points to create organized categories, comparing data points to current company processes and writing reports outlining business predictions or proposals. You will work closely with company departments to pull data following department decisions or initiatives to weigh their success.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data by analyzing business results or by setting up and managing new studies

  • Build tools to automate data collection

  • Search through large data sets for usable information

  • Create reports and presentations for business uses

  • Correlate similar data to find actionable results

  • Transfer data into new formats to make it more appropriate for analysis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, computer science, mathematics or related quantitative field

  • 2-5 years experience

  • Proficiency in Python, R and standard statistical modeling packages

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Exceptional technical writing skills

  • Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way

  • Statistical techniques such as regression, hypothesis testing, and multivariate analysis

  • Flexible and adaptable to change

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Enthusiasm to collaborate with different teams in unique environments
