Position Summary

We are looking for an exceptional Data Scientist to join our team in Staines-upon-Thames. You will be experienced in working with data, curious about data and patterns, passionate to turn huge data sets into accurate and meaningful information which is easy to understand and has commercial impact on Samsung products.

Role and Responsibilities

As a data scientist your role will involve:

  • Developing a deep understanding of data to provide meaningful insights with significant business impact.

  • Work as part of a team to deliver complex solutions tailored to commercial and research interests.

  • Tackling all stages of data science workflows, from EDA, design and preparation, through to delivery, deployment and maintenance.

  • Freedom to launch new projects (academic or commercial) within Samsung Research, in collaboration with other teams or industry/university partners.

Skills and Qualifications

Required Skills

  • PhD, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, ML & Artificial Intelligence, etc.)

  • Programming proficiency in Python

  • Data collection, data fusion, statistical data modelling and evaluation experience in Python

  • Prior experience with fundamental modelling techniques such as: regression, clustering, classification, decision trees, statistical models

  • Knowledge of and experience deploying modern machine learning techniques to solve real world problems

  • Excellent communication, team work and a results-oriented attitude

  • Proficiency in problem solving and a self-starter

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of big data tools such as Spark, Hadoop etc.

  • Familiar with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)

  • Experience deploying models via MLOps platforms (Neptune, MLFlow, Sagemaker etc.)

  • Exposure to deep learning approaches and modelling frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, etc.)

Job Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK

Hybrid Working: Standard working week will be 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home if preferred
