Model e EVDD privacy engineering team is hiring for a data scientist to develop connected vehicle data privacy. As a data scientist, you have the oppotunity to protect our customer data through privacy enhancing technologies, risk intellegence and other relavent inititives. You will be working in a team of talented software engineers, data engineers and data scientists and will be closely collaborating with TPM, Product, Business, Legal,  Privacy offices and other engineering teams. This is a hybrid position to Seattle WA, Dearborn MI and Palo Alto CA. 

Data Scientist for the privacy engineering team for connected vehicle. We protect customer data privacy through policy implementation and privacy enhancing technologies. On the policy side, we design and implement privacy governance solutions throughout the software and data life-cycle to enhance the compliance for all data collection for features and analytics. On the privacy enhancing tech side, we develop algorithms and engineering implementation to de-risk data collection to protect high risk customer data. Opportunities to work build 0-1 solutions, impacting all connected vehicle software and data. Work closely with TPM, OGC, privacy office, product, business and other engineering orgs.

What you'll do...

  • Develop privacy enhancing algorithms and implementations, such as encryption, secure enclave, differential privacy, federated learning and other related algorithms.
  • Develop automated privacy data-driven tooling to improve efficiency of privacy governance and other processes
  • Identify, measure and mitigate risks in the data system.
  • Provide data-driven insights.

You'll have...

  • Master's degree in Math, applied math, statistics, data science, computer science or other related fields
  • 5+ years of data scientist experience in two or more of the following areas: privacy or security algorithm development, risk assessment, risk detection, encryption, privacy enhancing technologies
  • 5+ years of hands-on coding experience in one or more of the following: Python, SQL, C++, Rust, Java.
  • 3 years experience  in statistics and machine learning
  • 1 year experience in optimization, AI, LLM, metrics, experiment and other data science areas
  • 1 year experience  solve business problem with data and algorithm

Even better, you may have...

  • PhD in Math, applied math, statistics, data science, computer science or other related fields
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience in cybersecurity, threat modeling and encryption
  • Experience in edge compute and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of privacy and AI regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, AI Act
