Job Summary
• This role is responsible for leading the planning and implementation of database development and maintenance and providing support to application projects, while also potentially leading them. The role collaborates with concerned stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of deliverables with project outcomes and to gather as well as translate requirements into operable solutions. The role addresses complex incidents, creates data models, supports data analysis, develops transformation strategies, solves challenges creatively, and leads projects to achieve operational and strategic objectives.

What a Data Science Engineer does in HP:
• Participates in solution development for small to medium deals, documenting solution components, defining deliverables, and preparing estimates.
• Supports application projects, potentially serving as the data engineering lead, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of the deliverables with other project outcomes.
• Offers valuable inputs and advice to peers, management, and customers in alignment with data engineering principles, technologies, methods, and best practices.
• Leads the planning and execution of database development and maintenance, encompassing the design, modification, testing, release/deployment, and maintenance of database environments.
• Assumes ownership of complex database incidents and problems, providing timely solutions and collaborates with subject matter experts or vendors for more complex incidents.
• Creates and maintains logical and physical data models for databases and projects, while also participating in the development and upkeep of enterprise data models for less complex enterprises.
• Supports business and technical personnel in data analysis activities, including SQL queries, and engages in data quality analysis and profiling.
• Automates and optimizes data processing workloads by recognizing patterns in data and technology usage and supports in the development of data transformation strategies for business intelligence or data migration.
• Collaborates to gather business and functional requirements, translating them into robust, scalable, and operable solutions with flexible data architecture.
• Leads moderate to high complexity projects, delivering professionally written reports, and supports the realization of operational and strategic plans.

Individuals who will do well in this role, usually possess:
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics/ Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in analytics, data science, reporting, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
