Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and client-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Herndon, VA. This is a Hybrid position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform experiments to evaluate aspects of emerging and fast-changing data science and related technologies, such as generative AI, quantum, and explainable AI techniques.
Perform benchmarking evaluations and applied research to address new problem sets. Seek out opportunities to apply new and emerging techniques against client use cases.
Contribute to solution accelerators, prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and methods for use in client engagements.
Contribute to statistical and advanced analytics models using advanced analytic techniques.
Develop models and solutions for problem sets in a broad range of data science areas, including but not limited to natural language processing, graph analytics, computer vision, anomaly detection, data visualization, and metrics creation.
Apply design thinking or other solution-based methods to solve problems consisting of various qualitative activities that support the generation of insightful, human-centered and impactful design solutions.
Perform knowledge elicitation from client of business problem details and incorporate that knowledge into algorithms, models, and approaches in client solutions.
Participate in solution development through whiteboarding sessions with clients, partners, and coworkers.
Contribute to solutions with algorithms, models, data manipulation tasks, or other technical challenges related to data science.
Communicate findings to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders and engage clients to distill complex technical language.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field and 2 years of experience OR a Master's degree, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of one or more cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Oracle, IBM, Azure and GCP).
Experience working with Python or R programming languages.
Experience constructing and performing complex database search queries.
Knowledge of the full life cycle of developing a variety of types of Machine Learning models.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including client-facing discussions and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in a related field.
Experience with analyzing and reporting on diverse data.
Expertise in one or more data science specialties, such as natural language processing, computer vision, or deep learning.
Ability to be a self-starter and take initiative.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating information to a senior executive audience.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have active Secret or TS clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and clients, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
