Team Summary

To ensure that Visa’s payment technology is truly available to everyone, everywhere requires the success of our business partners such as financial institutions, merchants, fintechs, government agencies and internal business units. The Global Data Science group supports these partners by using our extraordinarily rich data set that spans more than 3 billion cards globally and captures more than 100 billion transactions in a single year.

What a Data Scientist does at Visa:

  • As a Data Scientist, contribute to the Korea and Mongolia Data Science team, and be part of Visa’s Global Data Science community.
  • Execute Data Science / A.I. projects to solve business problems across various domains (e.g. digital, marketing, risk etc.), working with both internal and external partners
  • Develop models for optimizing customer experiences, generating revenue, creating data insights and managing risk
  • Engage in innovative Data Science and A.I. practices to enhance analytic capabilities
  • Provide technical expertise and generate actionable insights from big data and communicate the findings to internal/external stakeholders
  • Define and execute detailed analytic plan with appropriate data mining and analytic techniques
  • Ensure project delivery within timelines and budget requirements
  • Identify opportunities and develop data solutions or products for multiple clients
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the team to leverage VisaNet data and data science approaches to drive Visa’s core business growth

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 2+ years of work experience with an Advanced degree
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Understanding the fundamentals of advanced M/L or D/L algorithms and Generative A.I.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more data analytics, programming tools (e.g. Python, R, Spark), big data tools (e.g. Hive, Hadoop) and query languages (e.g. SQL)
  • Proficiency in building predictive and descriptive models using machine learning tool kit such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow etc.
  • Previous exposure to financial services, credit cards or merchant analytics is a plus, but not required
  • Generating and visualizing data-based insights in software such as Tableau
  • Communicating data-driven insights and conveying actionable recommendations
  • Managing and organizing work in Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
