Introduction

We are a transversal organization operating at Flat Europe level. Our department is focused on bringing uniform IT applications to all clusters, with cutting edge technology and innovative solutions. Our Data Science team specializes in delivering ML and AI based solutions, to better our supply chain and optimize the processes. 

What does the job entail?

ArcelorMittal FE Supply Chain steers, follows and delivers 20Mton of steel to customers spread throughout the world each year.  

The person will be responsible for holding business interactions and identifying opportunities within the business of ArcelorMittal to leverage statistical modeling, data analysis and machine learning for diverse supply chain problems. In addition to this, as a team lead, the person will design roadmaps for end-to-end solutions and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a variety of projects ranging from advanced data analysis for a one-off problem
  • Analysis of all the related data is essential for optimising and automating these processes.
  • Integrate data analysis leading to industrialised models 
  • Monitor and optimize machine learning and AI integrated into real systems. 
  • Develop projects on optimised forecasting of delivery times, stock reduction, optimisation of shipments, ....
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data

What would we need?

Education:  Master’s degree in data science or a related technical field.

Desirable knowledge:

  • Experience with Data Management, Governance and Analysis (at least 5 years) 
  • Knowledge in application of design
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques 
  • Familiarity with deployment of machine learning based applications. 
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Python (additional knowledge and programming skills in at least other programming languages are an asset)
  • Sound knowledge, theoretical and practical, of ML algorithms and its application areas 
  • Experience in Azure ML and knowledge of Azure and its framework is a plus
  • Strong experience with at least one of the visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, SAC
  • Strong leadership and good project management skills 
  • Strong analytical skills and business-oriented mindset
  • Good knowledge and experience in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments. 
  • Hands-on experience with database systems. 
  • Basic understanding of multi component applications 

Languages:

  • English: Level advanced
  • Knowledge of French, Dutch or Spanish would be a plus
