Job Description

The Global Business Optimisation (GBO) team mission, as part of the Client Services (CS) organization, is to turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value while working closely with Visa’s stakeholders to build creative solutions. Our Data Scientist consultants are experts in data, automation, coding, payment processing (including authorization and authentication), and creative thinking. By coupling in-depth analysis of cardholder behaviour with Visa’s world-class products, and digital offerings, we address meaningful business problems and have an immediate impact on the business of our highly analytical teams and clients.


In this role the consultant interprets and manage data to solve complex problems utilizing skills in data extraction, pre-processing, cleaning, visualization, automation, and the use of tools like python, tableau, and machine learning frameworks. They are actively involved with all other teams in CS, supporting and developing new insights that help create, manage, and deliver actionable insights to both internal and external stakeholders.


Specific activities may include
• Be an out-of-the-box thinker who is passionate about brainstorming and implementing innovative ways to use our unique data to answer business problems.
• Extract and understand data to form an opinion on how to best help and derive relevant insights for our stakeholders.
• Develop visualizations to make complex analyses accessible to a broad audience.
• Develop processes and build automation using Visa infrastructure to increase the GBO team performance.
• Find opportunities to craft products out of analyses that are suitable for multiple clients.
• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging Visa data to drive business solutions.
• Develop custom models and algorithms to apply to datasets. These models include but are not limited to statistical and machine learning models.
• Provide analytical and technical support to internal stakeholders including our GBO colleagues and deliver SME training.
• Analyse root cause problems, define analytical objectives and formalize data requirements for various types of analyses.
• Create and maintain projects documentation.
• Create and lead presentations of complex data and content to stakeholders in an accurate, understandable, and engaging manner taking into consideration their varying degrees of analytical and technical expertise.
• Work with a pan-European team located in multiple locations and contribute to local and global projects across Visa.
• Work in a Big Data environment with its technical challenges.
• Contribute to build and maintain highly strategic reports.
• This role is expected to quickly ramp up payment processing data knowledge.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications


• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent.
• A genuine passion for data, automation, and about the payment’s ecosystem.
• Experience with SQL, Tableau, Python, and machine learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow) are necessary.
• Intermediate level of machine learning knowledge is necessary.
• Must be proficient in all MS Office applications with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Confidence working in a high pace and dynamic environment, following several work streams at the same time.
• Experience of creating business value from data is required.
• Exposure to working in an insight delivery environment is a plus.
• Proactive, curious, problem solver with experience of being a self-starter and has a willingness to learn.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to think quickly.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Knowledge of authorisation and/ or authentication processing is a plus.
• Great analytical, quantitative and client presentation is a plus.
• Fluency in English is required while knowledge of an additional European language is a plus.
