Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Science and AI Events Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for spearheading the strategy, development, and execution of all Data Science and AI-related tradeshows and events (in-person & virtual). This pivotal role involves shaping the event customer experience narrative, program management, coordination of required solutions and demonstrations with subject matter experts, and the critical task of measuring and reporting on the event impact, return on investment (ROI), and fostering community engagement at these events. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Event Planning:
Develop a comprehensive strategy for Data Science and AI tradeshows and events, aligning with business goals.
Identify industry-specific events, conferences, and exhibitions that align with our business objectives.
Lead planning of customer advisory councils in partnership with product marketing, product management, and business development to ensure customer engagements are planned and set each quarter in key markets. This involves understanding customer needs, gathering feedback, and incorporating insights into event planning.
Own outcomes and metrics for each event and utilize data points to inform event strategy and future sponsorship investments.
Program Management:
Oversee the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of events, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product marketing, product management, and business development, to define event objectives, content, and messaging.
Lead the strategy and execution of tradeshows and events, ensuring alignment with overall business and customer engagement goals.
Customer Experience Enhancement:
Shape the narrative and messaging to create a compelling customer experience at events.
Ensure that each event aligns with our brand identity and values.
Lead DS/AI customer research engagements where teams engage with ambassadors, end-users, and customers to help inform product development, GTM, and partnerships. Foster a customer-centric approach in event planning and execution.
Solution and Demo Coordination:
Collaborate with subject matter experts to determine which solutions and AI demos should be showcased at each event.
Work with internal teams to prepare and set up the necessary HW & SW solutions to meet the strategy and objectives for each event or customer engagement. Ensure seamless integration of solutions and demos into the overall event experience.
Reporting and Analytics:
Track event performance and measure ROI, providing detailed reports on key metrics.
Utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve event strategies and outcomes. Provide actionable recommendations for future events based on analysis and feedback.
Customer Advisory Councils & Channel Partner Events:
Develop a holistic strategy around customer advisory engagements and channel partner events in partnership with product management and business development.
Define objectives and timeline for customer advisory engagements and channel partner events in partnership with markets to ensure engagement across all markets occurs.
Execute and own agenda, speaker coordination, and logistics for these meetings.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets. Allocate resources effectively to maximize the impact of events.
Process and manage all purchase orders associated with customer engagements & tradeshow events ensuring appropriate timing and partnership with vendors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. 5+ years of event management experience in tech with a solutions business (HW & SW).
Proven experience in event management, preferably in data science, or AI sector.
Can point to experience managing and executing events managed that span more than one business group, which have reached an audience greater than 5,000 and cost of $250K+ (US$).
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze event performance and adapt strategies accordingly.
Proficiency in event management software and tools.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Enthusiasm for Data Science and AI, staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
Willingness to travel to events, as needed.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is 90,100.00-130,650.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
