The Position

You will be essential to address the next challenges in Diabetes Care by shaping our next generation continuous glucose monitoring solutions that will transform the patient experience with unprecedented actionable data insights. Join our team as a Data Scientist as part of the RIS Digital Biomarker Data Insights sub-chapter. We co-create innovative digital biomarker and remote patient management solutions and translate them into health technology implementation changing patients lives. 

Your Responsibilities:

  • You co-develop data insights features and products around our digital health solutions - in close collaboration with the other science and product stakeholders

  • You advance data analysis at the intersect of digital biomarker and established clinical data

    • Co-develop and execute data analysis plans around the clinical validation of digital features / scores derived from our digital health solutions

    • Fuel our pipeline of algorithms that change the way people are living with diabetes

    • Demonstrate the scientific evidence

    • Be the interface to other internal and external data science teams working on related topics and data

  • You deliver scientific data analysis support for regulatory interactions, development of material for marketing and sales collateral, customer support and scientific advisory meetings

  • You lead data analysis activities in diverse matrix teams

  • You drive the understanding of the data analysis results by product development programs through the development of compelling narratives and presentations

  • You write manuscripts for peer-reviewed journal articles to establish the biological, clinical and patient relevance of data collected in novel digital biomarker approaches

  • You innovate and bring forward creative solutions in your area of responsibility and beyond

Your profile:

  • University degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, natural science or informatics

  • 5+ year of hands-on experience in data science (optional: signal processing) on digital biomarker data preferably in the diagnostics / pharmaceutical / medical device environment

    • Knowledge on Machine Learning/AI

    • Methods for longitudinal analysis of read-outs derived from DHTs.

    • Knowledge on validation analysis methodologies

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for digital health technologies and Software as a medical device (SaMD)

  • Profound knowledge in Python, R or similar software packages/languages

  • Goal-oriented way of working - always with the customer and patient in mind

  • Used to work collaboratively within changing, agile, large, multinational teams in multiple location and managing your time against competing demands

Locations: Vienna, Sant Cugat, Indianapolis or Basel

At the Company's discretion, an exception to the location requirement could be made under extraordinary circumstances.  

As this position is a global role, international business travel will be required depending upon the business location of the successful candidate and ongoing business project activities.
