Data Scientist NAMs - (W/M)

At Bayer, we are shaping the future of agriculture for farmers, consumers, and the planet. We are seeking a talented Data Scientist that will help fundamentally transform product discovery, development, and risk assessment in the crop protection space by functioning as a scientific leader in computational biology and predictive modeling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data science approaches for exposure and/or effect modelling within the context of NAMs (New Assessment Methodologies) in Human Safety – Toxicology in close collaboration with subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide input on data collection needs for relevant assays (vitro & vivo).
  • Identify necessary skill gaps and develop your personal and technical capabilities.
  • Present and communicate your novel data science approaches in front of internal and external scientific or regulatory audiences.

Qualification & Competencies:

  • Data scientist with mathematical, biological, chemical background or bioinformatic degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in exposure and/or effect modelling in the context of pharmacology or toxicology and risk assessment.
  • Very good active listening and translation skills to understand the needs of collaborators and communicate with confidence at all levels inside and outside of the company.
  • Strong team player able to work in cross functional teams across Toxicology, different expert functions.
  • Lifelong learner with flexible and openminded spirit with the appetite to innovate and experiment.
