Mission and responsibilities:

We are seeking an innovative and passionate BI Product Owner to lead the development of the Business Intelligence and Reporting Capabilities of the newly created function created within the Retail & Commercial Unit for Santander.

One of the main products will be the creation of dashboards that will serve as the central hub for our financial operations across multiple countries, providing critical insights and fostering data-driven decision-making. As a Product Owner, you will work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders from various departments to ensure the dashboard meets the needs of our global business.

The main tasks of this position will be the following:

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for the central financial dashboard. Ensure alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize features, and manage expectations. Facilitate regular updates and feedback sessions.
  • Roadmap and Backlog Management: Create and maintain a product roadmap. Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that the team is always working on the most valuable features.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and developers to design, develop, and deploy the dashboard. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure effective teamwork and communication.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the dashboard meets high standards of quality, usability, and performance. Conduct regular reviews and testing to identify and address any issues.
  • Data Insights and Analysis: Leverage data insights to inform product decisions. Work with data analysts to interpret data and derive actionable insights that can drive business optimization.
  • User Training and Support: Provide training and support to users to ensure they can effectively use the dashboard. Gather feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the dashboard’s features, functionalities, and usage guidelines.

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • +8-10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Computational Skilled Degree (Computer Science, Telecomm., etc..)
  • Passion for Innovation: You are passionate about leveraging data to drive innovation and improve business outcomes.
  • Experience with Large Datasets: You have experience dealing with large datasets and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Strong Statistical Knowledge: You are well-versed in basic statistical concepts and know how to apply them in different programming languages (ideally Python or Spark, and less ideally R).
  • Data Visualization Expertise: You have experience with data visualization tools and can effectively communicate data insights.
  • SQL Proficiency: You are proficient in SQL and can write efficient queries for data exploration and analysis.
  • Collaborative and Open-Minded: You are a team player who values the contributions of others and can give and take constructive feedback well.
