Job Description:

We’re looking for an ASSOCIATE DATA SCIENTIST to join our Advanced Analytics and Insights  team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to implementation of advanced analytics   solutions applied to Audit Advanced Analytics workstreams, and to generate insights  for Manulife’s various segments. The successful candidate will bring their strong communication skills, innovation, a mindset for critical thinking, and strategic and functional expertise leveraged through data management and analytics to drive the success of this initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide analytics services including statistics, data science and machine learning solutions for audit teams
  • Preferably, provide support for the development and enhancements dashboards and Power Apps
  • Actively participate in cross-functional project teams developing analytics-enabled solutions
  • Work on problems of limited scope/complexity, following standard practices and procedures
  • Provide analysis on datasets of moderate complexity

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in statistics, engineering, computer science, data science, economics, and other quantitative discipline     
  • Proficient in Python/R for data modeling
  • Good understanding of SQL, MS Excel, and Data Extraction tools.
  • Preferred: experience with Azure Cloud Analytics
  • Proven hands-on experience in managing libraries, database management, importing and reconciling data.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of data and data concepts; ability to educate others.
  • Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mind set.
  • Data-driven with excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Results-oriented in prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)
  • Shift Schedule (indicate if it’s day, mid, night, or rotating): Amenability to work on the assigned schedule (dependent on business need)
  • Minimum Skills to Hire/Must Haves:
    • Understanding of marketing and customer research
    • Questionnaire design
    • Familiarity with Medallia
  • Experience with other Business intelligence and visualization tools (Tableau, QlikView, Power BI) and SQL queries will be helpful. 
  • Strong understanding of the insurance and wealth and asset management customer journey, preferred.
