The Opportunity
The Associate Data Scientist is responsible for the implementation of advanced analytics models and solutions to improve business processes, and to generate insights in order to support the strategy and goals of the on-shore Advanced Analytics teams in North America. The successful candidate will bring their strong communication skills, innovation, a mindset for critical thinking, and strategic and functional expertise leveraged through data management and analytics to drive the success of this initiative.
This position reports to the Senior Data Scientist.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop tools and services such as modeling, dashboard development, decision aids, and business case analysis to recommend solutions and drive innovation and strategic initiatives.
Provide support for the development and enhancements of R Shiny dashboards and Power Apps.
Actively participate in cross-functional project teams developing analytics-enabled solutions
Work on problems of limited scope/complexity, following standard practices and procedures
Provide analysis on datasets of moderate complexity
Communicate results of cases with limited complexity to more senior data scientists and business partners
Own and manage assigned tasks

What we are looking for
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science; or equivalent work experience.
Highly proficient in R Shiny dashboards and Power Apps
Proficient in Python/R for data modeling
Excellent understanding of SQL, MS Excel, and Data Extraction tools.
Preferred: expertise with basic Linux commands, Git, Jira, and ReactJS
Preferred: experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, or other Big Data Platforms and EDLs.
Proven hands-on experience in managing libraries, database management, importing and reconciling data.
Advanced technical knowledge of data and data concepts; ability to educate others.
Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mind set.
Data-driven with excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Results-oriented in prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
