Summary:

Serves as a subject matter expert for Product Management and shares responsibility for defining and driving the go-to-market strategies for Torc’s product portfolio; including Torc’s core products and emerging products. Defines new go-to-market strategies for productizing Torc’s internally used products externally to a larger market. Leads Business Development engagements in expanding Torc’s product portfolio with current and potential customers. Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to identify and define customer needs, understand expectations, business value, and support development of the Product Roadmap and Features required to meet these needs. Collaborates deeply with the Commercialization teams and Customer Success teams to ensure smooth launch and market adoption of Torc’s product portfolio. Heavily supports current customer engagements and drives future customer engagement activities for expanded portfolio.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop a product go-to-market strategy in close collaboration with commercialization, customer success, marketing, technology, executive leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Develops business case and market opportunity to justify product development investment.
  • Represents Product in product pricing and financial approach with finance and commercialization team
  • Work with product management & commercialization peers to define and execute the go-to-market strategy. Unblock them and re-prioritize as needed
  • Analyze data and market indicators to ensure we are always focusing on the highest impact issues, re-prioritizing as needed; advocate for and develop new or more comprehensive metrics, as needed;  and act as a liaison between the Product Team and relevant stakeholders
  • Develop or improve Product Strategy alignment/communication processes to ensure cross-functional alignment between teams; communicate Product strategy and vision clearly to a variety of stakeholders across the entire company and externally
  • Provides direction of all phases of the strategy, from concept to go-to-market. Functions as the central Product liaison to the Commercialization and Customer Success teams
  • Collaborate with Finance on financial planning and strategy; analyze and understand budget, shortfalls, and costs to maintain ROI and the financial constraints, communicates financial related issues to senior management as soon as possible
  • Responsible for development of product growth and diversification; direct the identification, evaluation, and pursuit of new and existing target customers that translate into long-term growth and profitability
  • Research, analyze, and track competitive landscape and provide suggestions regarding implications to customer engagements. Drive key initiatives and ideas as to which customers to engage, how to engage them, how to differentiate ourselves from our competitors, etc. Manage the process of negotiating agreements with key customers
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (Commercialization, Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Safety, etc.) and external points of contact to negotiate key agreements with potential customers. Partner with corporate directors and leaders on investments, acquisitions, and/or joint ventures.
  • Build and maintain working financial models to support customer engagement strategy; support the development and optimization of Go-To-Market and pricing strategies, financial models, corporate metrics, identify and develop scaling strategies, etc
  • Builds and supervises the team of Strategy and Business Development professionals. Guide the team to set, track, and achieve goals aligned with companywide vision, goals, and initiatives

What You need To Succeed:

  • MBA in Business, Marketing, Finance or Strategy.  Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or or related field of study
  • 15+ years in sales, strategy or business development or related field; 6plus  years of automotive, logistics or autonomous driving
  • Experience in defining and implementing strategies and processes; experience in the interface between cross-functional teams
  • Must possess a passion and the ability to develop and grow colleagues to their highest potential
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to build trust and strong working relationships, effectively create and proofread documents and reports, and communicate to a diverse workforce
  • Keen attention to detail to identify problems and processes that don’t comply with protocol
  • Strong business insight and judgment, team orientation and collaborative style
