About this Team:
AI Governance (AIG) team is part of the Data and AI Platform (DAP) technology organization in Visa. The team’s mission is to provide the AI Governance engineering solution for Visa to achieve centralized AI excellence across Visa. The opportunity will join the effort undergoing building the AI Observatory for Visa. AI Observatory provides an inventory of ML models, oversight for model’s full lifecycle, and governance of all model’s accuracy, transparency, and fairness. We are also uplifting domain-specific models to the unified AI Governance framework and streamline the modeling efforts to a centralized AI excellence across Visa.

As a Lead System Architect in AI Governance technology team, you will have the unique chance to make a direct and meaningful impact by delivering solutions that powers AI Governance systems. Essential Responsibilities:
You will leverage sound architectural principles to implement effective and efficient solutions.
You will be a lead working with other developers on building applications from scratch to pushing them into production.
You will explore and evaluate emerging technologies, prototype, and strategize its adaptation within Visa.
You will lead code reviews, and deliver high quality code
Support production systems and constantly improve our user experience.
Follow established software development guidelines and Visa security standards
Build and maintain relationships with the agile team, the user community, architects, and support teams to understand requirements and implement effective solutions
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• At least 8 years’ team leadership experience as a team lead or architect.
• Experience in software development, big data, and machine-learning processes.
• Experience leading a development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.
• Experienced with high-performance imperative languages such as Python and Java, and big data distributed computing platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, Dask, or Ray.
• Experience in software build and release pipeline using CI/CD tools, containerization, Unix, and shell scripting.
• Experience planning and documenting technical specifications for features and system design.
• Experience establishing new standards and best practices to monitor, test, automate, and maintain IT components or system.
• Experience monitoring data management solutions and identifying optimization opportunities.
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,800.00 to 237,550.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
