Head of Legal Tabby is seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our team as the Head of Legal for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters pertaining to our operations in Saudi Arabia, including corporate governance, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and preparing the business for an IPO. As the business grows and expands, this role will also evolve to meet the changing needs of the organization. The role reports to the General Manager KSA and acts as their key partner.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in Saudi Arabia, including but not limited to financial services regulations, data protection laws, and consumer protection regulations.
Corporate Governance: Provide guidance and support on corporate governance matters, including drafting and reviewing corporate documents, maintaining corporate records, and advising on corporate structure.
Commercial Transactions: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and licensing agreements.
Regulatory Affairs: Stay abreast of regulatory developments in Saudi Arabia and advise internal stakeholders on the potential impact of regulatory changes on the business. Liaise with regulatory authorities as necessary and manage regulatory filings and approvals.
IPO Readiness: Collaborate with internal teams, external advisors, and other stakeholders to prepare the business for an IPO. Assist with due diligence processes, drafting prospectuses, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Legal in other operating countries to align legal strategies and share best practices. Collaborate with other departments, including finance, compliance, and operations, to support business initiatives and address legal issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Law; Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
- Qualified lawyer with a valid license to practice law in Saudi Arabia.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law, with significant experience in corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Prior experience working in the financial services industry, fintech sector preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of financial services and corporate governance including SAMA regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to manage complex legal projects and work effectively under pressure.
- Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
