The Innovation, Data, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (IDAA) Legal team provides global support to all of the Commercial and Investment Bank’s (CIB) sub-lines-of business – Global Banking, Research, Payments, Sales and Markets, and Securities Services, and subsidiaries that sell CIB’s data and analytics products, as well as the various technologists and data scientists who assist the CIB in its innovative initiatives.
As a technology attorney in our CIB Legal team, you will primarily assist with coverage of the CIB businesses that sell J.P. Morgan’s data products. The attorney selected for this role will negotiate agreements with Pricing Direct, Inc.’s and Research’s clients and will provide strategic advice on data governance and analytics, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies leveraged by this business.
Job Responsibilities will include:
- Advising on drafting and negotiating client-facing contracts
- Assisting with providing day-to-day legal advice and counsel to internal clients and partners in connection with the development, implementation and maintenance of data, analytics, AI or other related technology products and services
- Collaborating with business teams, as well as colleagues in Legal, Risk, Compliance and other control functions to address and resolve complex issues
- Advising internal clients on relevant legal, regulatory and market developments in the data, analytics and AI industries
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Argentinian legal degree
- Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiating and commercial skills
- Experience practicing with a law firm, financial institution or technology company
- Knowledge of intellectual property or data management and analytics is a plus, or related corporate transactional or litigation experience with transferrable skills/knowledge
- Ability to prioritize work, effectively manage many issues at one time, and interact effectively with senior management
- Ability to understand the business needs and develop collaborative relationships with internal partners across the supported businesses
- Effective and efficient problem solver; strong organizational and project management skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance, and legal licensing must be in compliance with the regulations of the local jurisdiction where the attorney will work prior to commencement of employment.
