The Global Vice President (VP) of Model Risk Management & AI Governance will be part of the first line corporate Data & Analytics Team, and will be responsible for overseeing the first line’s governance and implementation models, attributes, and AI, including managing and mitigating associated risks. The VP will also be responsible for the development and management of first line AI governance at Equifax. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of models, attributes, and AI implemented across Data and Analytics functions at Equifax.
What you will do
Ensures the model risk management framework for Equifax encompasses all business and global regulatory requirements.
Lead and appropriately organize Equifax’s governance committees such as the Model Risk Management Steering Committee and AI Governance Committee.
Provide expert consultation on risk metrics, monitoring, reporting and technology solutions in order to improve framework capabilities
Leads the process definition and execution of validating models and AI solutions.
Ensures that Equifax’s models comply with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
Manages the coordination, development and best practice adoption of the governance strategy, managing the appropriate deployment activities for the Global Equifax Organization.
Ensure the responsible use of AI and effective risk management strategies, such as selecting appropriate training data sets, implementing cybersecurity measures, and addressing potential biases or errors in AI models.
Oversee the model candidate assessment process and ensure cross collaboration of the Model Risk & Validation team to document rationale for decisions made.
Oversee enhancements to model risk management framework, policy, and procedures. Ensure ongoing updates are captured to ensure compliance.
As a SME of MRM, support audits and examinations, as well as lead remediation efforts.
Develop and enhance model risk metrics reports and present results to senior management.
What experience you need
10+ years of experience in risk management, risk analytics, risk consulting, or related fields within the financial services industry performing analytics
8+ years working with internal or external (CFPB, OCC, Federal Reserve, State Utilities, etc.) regulatory groups
8+ years managing teams of statisticians and database analysts
Experience managing and governing a large inventory of risk models across multiple regions.
Strong and effective communication are required and will be applied across a matrix global environment. The ability to adjust messaging and adapt to various stakeholders and audiences will be important.
What could set you apart
Active Cloud Certification strongly preferred (GCP, AWS, and/or Azure)
Strong presentation and spreadsheet skills. Equifax uses Google Workspace (Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, Google Meet, Google Chat). Previous experience with Google Workspace is strongly preferred
Familiarity with programming languages (eg Python, R, VBA, SQl)
