Job Description

The Visa Consulting and Analytics team is looking for a high-performance individual to join its team and play a key role in developing and delivering high impact projects across the South Cone (SOCO) region. The potential candidate will support engagements with Visa Clients, by delivering, implementing and executing projects and solutions on behalf of issuers, acquirers and merchants. This person will support initiatives to promote sustainable and profitable growth, thereby ensuring that Visa is both, the preferred brand and unique business partner. 

The ideal candidates are problem solvers, equipped with strong analytical & quantitative skills suited to address key strategic needs for Visa’s clients including issuers, acquirers and merchants. 

Adept at creative and critical thinking, they are able to deconstruct problems and transform insights into large scale, state-of-the-art solutions. Candidates must be quick learners with a strong sense of personal responsibility. 

Specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: 

  • Work with large volumes of data; extract and manipulate large datasets using standard tools such as Hadoop Ecosystem, Spark, Python, SQL, etc.  

  • Hands-on skills in cleaning, manipulating, analyzing, visualizing large data sets. 

  • Data Cleansing/Wrangling – This involve parsing and aggregating messy, incomplete, and unstructured data sources to produce data sets that can be used in analytics/predictive modeling. 

  • Enhance and optimize codes that scale critical business processes. 

  • Develop and validate advance data mining tools, algorithms, and other capabilities to solve business problem. Experience doing ML using R, Python (scikit-learn, etc.) or other similar software. 

  • Find opportunities to create and automate repeatable analyses or build streamlined solutions for business consultant and Visa’s clients. 

  • Support the implementation of complex models and data pipelines on large datasets. 

  • Design and develop dashboards using Tableau or Power BI. 

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering, computer science, statistics, or other related fields or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD) 
  • 3+ year of experience with the ability to come up with practical algorithms and write high quality code quickly for analyzing gigabyte to terabyte-scale data. 

  • Understanding of algorithms and ability to optimize various program complexities using suitable data structures. 

  • Experience using SQL and Python. 

  • Experience with using distributed computing technologies, including Hadoop (MapReduce, Pig and Hive) and Spark to write data analytic processing jobs both in batch and streaming against structured and unstructured data 

  • Experience in at least one visualization tool such as Power BI or Tableau. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and able to meet deadlines 

  • Quick-thinker, fast learner, wide general knowledge, problem solver 

  • Team worker, responsible, delivery-oriented 

  • English and Spanish (Portuguese a plus).
