At Machine Learning Architects Basel (MLAB), we assist and empower people and organizations in designing, building, and operating reliable data and machine learning solutions. In doing so, our MLOps journey and effective solution patterns enable our customers to operationalize, scale, and continuously deliver data and AI products beyond the pilot and prototype stages. These patterns and frameworks revolve not only around the latest technologies but also consider role, skills, and process adjustments. We thereby:
- Help our customers realize the full potential of data and AI solutions, from use case identification, over data and ML platform implementation, to integration, testing operation of ML models and LLMs (DataOps & MLOps).
- Design, test, integrate and operate data, model and code pipelines, and end-to-end data/ML/LLM systems.
- Enable technical and non-technical teams and individuals to leverage data science and management, data, ML, and reliability engineering in an end-to-end fashion.
Tasks
As a full-time intern, part-time working student, or thesis project student at Machine Learning Architects Basel, you will contribute to internal and customer projects. With your hands-on mentality, you will support us in developing solutions that enable our customers to integrate and operate reliable data and AI solutions.
We are looking for students who have finished or are near the end of their studies. While we prefer a minimum duration of six months, we are open to the following options:
- Full-time internship (as part of or independent of your studies)
- Part-time working students
- Bachelor or Master thesis projects
Your responsibilities will be related to:
- Requirements & market analysis: You will analyze the market, technologies, and customers' requirements to define the best solutions.
- Integration & implementation: You will implement data and machine learning solutions for internal projects and our customers.
- Consulting & knowledge sharing: You will support our consultants in advising our customers and preparing talks and workshops.
Requirements
- Basic skills in data engineering, machine learning, and software engineering
- Advanced knowledge of Python
- Preferably practical experience with cloud services (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Fluency in both German and English
- Bachelor's degree (or close to finishing it) in computer science or similar engineering qualification
- Solution-oriented mindset, initiative-taking and ownership attitude, self-confident appearance, and good communication skills
- Swiss passport or a valid EU/EFTA work permit.

We prefer to work with students that live within a reasonable communitng distance to our office in Basel, so that they can join our team activities and come to work with us in person at least once or twice per week. If desired, you can also work from our office every day.
