This role will also provide valuable exposure to risk management, valuations, and operations. At BlackRock, we are seeking an AI Platform Engineer to join our team as a technical and team leader. You will play a crucial role in building and evolving our AI Platform, with a focus on code generation, lifecycle benefits and the goal of a more productive engineering organization across several BlackRock businesses, including but not limited to the Aladdin business.
Responsibilities:
• Create the AI tools that empower all development across BlackRock, with a focus on developer productivity, enablement and time to market
• Find the right mix of buy and build, negotiating our leveraging of best-in-class products along with our in-house products
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to implement comprehensive AI/ML-based solutions from start to finish.
• Work with team members in a multi-office, multi-country environment.
• Refine business and functional requirements and translate them into scalable technical designs with effective execution Requirements:
• Strong background in applied AI technologies, including LLM frameworks and an understanding of how to optimize and leverage applied models
• Strong understanding of modern AI practices, including prompt engineering, prompt injection, retrieval augmentation, fine-tuning, precision-recall optimization, etc
• Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in object-oriented programming with a full Java/JS stack
• Proficiency in designing and building scalable APIs and managing services at scale
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (Preferred), AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working in Agile development teams.
• Excellent collaboration skills.
• (Optional but nice to have): People leadership skills, running small/effective/agile engineering squads.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $157,500 - $214,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.Our benefits
