Job DescriptionAs a Supply Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role both within and outside the organization, aiming to define, develop, and implement processes that ensure high-quality and reliable products, with a primary focus on our V-BAT products. Success in this role hinges on clear communication and decisive action with our suppliers, fostering partnerships that drive exceptional results across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in manufacturing, supply management, supplier development, sub-system performance criteria, metrology, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do:
- Identify and report quality defects discovered during incoming inspections to vendors, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Drive supplier quality development throughout product stages, collaborating with design engineering on design reviews, process development, testing, and qualification for V-BAT components and sub-assemblies. Ensure supplier processes align with product requirements.
- Partner with design engineering, quality engineering, and program management to maintain predictable supply, managing exceptions and deviations. Focus on mechanical integration, electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, and harnesses.
- Drive supplier quality readiness by analyzing key characteristics, developing measurement systems, and overseeing qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, Audit, inspections).
- Define and execute technology and supplier capability roadmaps, supporting future programs, prototypes, and explorations.
- Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities, resolving fitment issues. Drive Supplier Corrective Action and Response (SCAR) process and share lessons learned.
- Audit supplier Quality Management Systems (QMS) of suppliers, ensuring compliance with Shield AI’s customer requirements. Lead onsite supplier audits and reviews for quality management and compliance.
- Prepare, facilitate, and lead on-site supplier audits and reviews to ensure contract deliverables meet quality management standards and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field
- Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense or similar hardware.
- Experience with driving supplier performance and evaluation.
- Experience with developing PFMEA, Control Plans and/or Inspection Plans
- Experience with data mining, data quality, creating key metrics for vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a technical field
- 5-7 years of experience with developing quality systems for low volume, high complex manufacturing environments and suppliers.
- Working knowledge of AS9100/ ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements.
- Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements
