The Computer Vision & Graphics (CVG) group develops innovative solutions in the field of 3D image and scene analysis and representation and is looking for a student assistant to support the programming, data analysis and evaluation of novel approaches. What you will do

You will support cutting-edge research on scene representation and compression using 3D Gaussian splatting. You will work under supervision on novel, parallel algorithms for sorting, dimension reduction, quantization and compression of high-dimensional data.

It is possible to write a Master's thesis.

What you bring to the table

  • Degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or a comparable field of study

  • A good understanding of computer graphics and rendering

  • Experience with a programming language that is used for GPU rendering: C/C++, C#, Java, CUDA or similar

  • Willingness to delve into different technologies: e.g. GPU architecture, PyTorch, CUDA/PyCUDA, Nvidia Warp

  • You are motivated to work on topics in the context of 3D Gaussian Splatting and are excited to try out new ideas from a current research trend

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.

The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
