Who We Are

At Gretel, we’re building a generative AI platform for synthetic data. Gretel’s APIs automatically fine-tune AI models to generate synthetic data on demand while protecting privacy and maintaining the utility and accuracy of the original data. Our synthetic data platform solves the data bottleneck problem for developers, data scientists, and AI/ML researchers across multiple modalities including tabular, time-series, relational, language and image. We're looking for a talented full stack software engineer to join our mission!

The Impact You Will Have

As a full stack engineer at Gretel you will be an integral part of the team that builds our Console and APIs, which are usually the first, and most frequent, touch-point customers have with Gretel. Therefore, our work on these products is key for growth, satisfaction, and retention on our platform. As a full stack engineer you will leverage modern frontend and backend technologies, working closely with design and product, to provide the best possible experience for our users.

What You Will Do

  • Be a core contributor of code, tests, and application/data/systems architecture on a small team of engineers working across the stack

  • Own both customer and developer happiness for your products in production, working with your own and other teams to build operational transparency and resiliency into every layer of deployed applications

  • Coordinate with engineering and product leads to define, prioritize, and task projects that help us meet business objectives

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing opportunities, and code reviews to encourage the growth of others

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of professional experience developing software in a production environment

  • At least 5 years of experience with scalable, API based agent or service oriented software architecture

  • Experience with agile development methodologies for continuous development of product and technology

  • Experience leading the delivery of large-scale distributed systems

  • Strong communication skills - you speak, and write, your mind well. We’re a distributed team, so we’re extra mindful about communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Math, or an algorithmic-centric discipline

  • Experience building applications using the following languages and technologies: React, Javascript/Typescript, and Python or Go

  • Experience building cloud-scale applications in AWS and/or GCP

  • Experience building containerized applications with Docker/Kubernetes

  • Experience working remotely in a distributed company

We think the best ideas come from the blending of diverse perspectives. Our team is composed of the best minds in their fields - and we believe that adding perspectives will make our solutions much stronger. We hire people who are superb at what they do, drawn to the cool edges where fields touch, and like to laugh. We are deeply collaborative, apolitical, and mission-oriented.
